Mrs. Young- Personal Narrative In my life, I have experienced many things. Some things in my life have been happy, some things sad, and some things that I dare not mention. When I was in high school, I did not want to go to college. All I wanted to do was to drink and drug myself to death. In one year, my life changed more than all my other years combined because of one persons actions. I still do not know if she realizes how much she helped me. Out of the many lessons that she taught me while she was my teacher, one overshadows the others. I learned how to care about others and not always think about myself first. This has been the most important life lesson that I have learned so far. This person was my A. She did not want us to learn the stuff then forget it the next day. Most teachers are just worried about people passing the ir class. Mrs. Young wanted the best for us. Not only was she a good person, but she had a way of getting information down to our level where we could understand it. If it were not for her, I might be in the gutter somewhere. Tabitha Young was not just a teacher; she was also one of my friends. Now everyone knows that teachers in North Carolina do not make that high of a salary. This did not matter to her; she would give anyone her last dollar if they needed it for any reason. None of us truly understood how much this teacher cared about her students until one day. The day started out as any normal day. All of the students were just sitting there chatting away with each other. Then as our teacher walked in the door, we all noticed that something was wrong. She did not have her usual angelic look about her. This look was of sadness. One individual asked her what was wrong. She then proceeded to tell us what was wrong.
